Πλασματικό το τελικό 1-1 για τον Ολυμπιακό Κοπεγχάγης στο τελευταίο του παιχνίδι εναντίον της EKJ Polyt

Saturday noon (08/09/2013) Olympiakos København was playing the 7th game in the league. The opponent was EKJ Polyt who had very decent results so far.  The final 1-1 left a bitter taste not only because Olympiakos deserved to win but also because with the 3 winning points the difference with the two top teams would have been reduced to 3 points.

Femi started the game with the following eleven: Sigalas (goalkeeper), Rogdakis (right back), Jaouad (left back), Peiro and Bertheussen (central defenders), Vesely (defensive midfielders), Rosskopf and Larisis (offensive midfielder), Mayers (attacking midfielder right), Lorenzo (attacking midfielder left) and Psychas (striker).

The whole game was a monologue for Olympiakos. However, the players couldn’t take advantage of the numerous chances they created. Second game in a row that scoring difficulties appear on the team. Same was the situation in the previous game against Nanoq with Olympiakos scoring only 2 goals against a strong but very inexperienced team. Against EKJ Polyt the opponent’s goalkeeper was also an insurmountable obstacle for the offense of Olympiakos as he managed to save his team several times helped also by the post in some of them.

Therefore, not only Olympiakos was losing the chances one after the other but also the opponents managed to score on the fast break taken advantage from a wrong estimation between the defense and the goalkeeper. That happened in the 25th minute of the game.

It was matter of time for Olympiakos to bring the game in equal terms and so it did 10 minutes later when Vesely run with the ball, dribbled and in the right moment he passed to Lorenzo for the 1-1. This was the result of the half time

Despite the comments of coach Femi during the half time, Olympiakos just couldn’t score no matter how well the players were playing. Definitely this is an issue that the coach should consider with his partners and work on it in the trainings. The season is long and the goal difference will undoubtedly matters in the end. So games like this should be cleared early and then the team relieved from the pressure can score more goals.

The final whistle kept Olympiakos in the 3rd position, 5 points below BK Sjoller and FC Randoms that tie in the first position.

Next game for Olympiakos this Friday against Hajduk SPuL.
